"The Madison Maennerchor reflects the long-standing German heritage of the Madison area. It is the oldest German male chorus in the state and the second-oldest in the United States. This special pin was created to celebrate our 150th anniversary held in 2002, and was handed out to all singers at our Saengerfest (Singing Festival) who came from all over Wisconsin and Illinois to help us celebrate. Today we have 42 singers (only 10 who are native Germans) who regularly perform in concerts throughout the area."
